(Football news) Rashford has been heavily linked with the Ligue 1 giants over the last couple of years, and he is thought to have been considered by PSG as a possible replacement for Kylian Mbappe during the recent market.

The 26-year-old signed a new contract with Manchester United off the back of an excellent 2022–23 season, when he managed 30 goals and 11 assists in 56 appearances, but he found it difficult to impress last term.

Rashford only contributed eight goals and six assists in 43 outings in 2023-24, but he has shown some positive signs this season, scoring four goals and registering two assists in his first 11 appearances.

There remains uncertainty surrounding his long-term position in Manchester, though, and his future is again expected to be the subject of speculation in the build-up to the 2025 summer transfer window.

PSG ‘reignite Rashford interest’ with move possible next summer

According to multiple reports, PSG have renewed their interest in Rashford, with the French giants expected to move for a high-profile forward during next summer’s transfer market.

The report claims that Rashford is back on PSG’s radar, although a deal is unlikely to occur unless Manchester United are willing to drop their asking price, which is thought to have been as much as £100m over the summer.

Rashford is valued at £50m, and it is possible that a deal could be done within that region due to the time left on his contract and the fact that he can be one of the most dangerous forwards in Europe when in his best form.

Despite a respectable tally of four goals at this stage of the season, the forward has again struggled in the Premier League, only managing one goal in seven appearances in England’s top flight.

Should Manchester United look to sell Rashford next summer?

Much will depend on how the season unfolds, as there have been signs of Rashford finding his 2022–23 form, especially in the first half of the recent Europa League contest with Porto.

However, the forward was then surprisingly withdrawn at the interval of that match by head coach Erik ten Hag.

Rashford is certainly capable of hitting the goal trial in the coming weeks, and Manchester United need that to be the case if they are to stand a chance of enjoying a successful campaign.

However, if the Englishman again struggles on the field and continues to look frustrated with life at Old Trafford in general, then it certainly makes sense for all involved to explore a transfer away from Manchester at the end of the campaign.
