Manchester United are already under-pressure after long term injuries

Due to injuries sustained last weekend against Arsenal, Leny Yoro will miss three months of action for Manchester United while Rasmus Hojlund will miss six weeks

(Football news) After suffering a foot injury in the last minutes of the preseason friendly, Yoro—who was making only his second appearance for the Red Devils—had to leave the field.

Soon after finding the back of the goal, Hojlund had to be substituted due to a hamstring problem, which affected the Danish international.

Before Manchester United’s fourth summertime preseason friendly against Real Betis, Yoro was spotted with his left foot in a protective boot and using crutches, which fueled rumors that he had sustained a major injury.

The 21-year-old may be available before the conclusion of Manchester United’s US Tour, as it was previously believed that Hojlund’s injury was fairly minor.

Yoro, Hojlund will be missing in early stages of new season

However, Hojlund is facing six weeks on the sidelines due to a hamstring problem, while Yoro fractured his metatarsal and is likely to be out for three months.

Hojlund is set to miss at least four competitive matches for Man United, including their opening three Premier League matches of the new campaign against Fulham, Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool.

Yoro, meanwhile, could miss as many as nine Premier League matches, in addition to the start of the club’s Europa League and EFL Cup campaigns.

According to BBC Sport, Yoro will have further tests once he has returned to the United Kingdom, with the teenager set to stay with the Man United squad for the remainder of their US Tour.

Will Man United act on Yoro, Hojlund news?

Yoro’s injury in just his second match for the club is a bitter blow, as he had been in line to start the season in the middle of the defence.

Lisandro Martinez is not currently with the squad due to his involvement for Argentina at the Copa America, while Victor Lindelof is being strongly linked with an exit.

As a result, Manchester United could accelerate their attempts to sign another centre-back ahead of the start of the season, with Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt thought to have already agreed personal terms with the club.

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite also remains a target, although the Toffees will have to reduce their substantial asking price for the deal to become a possibility.

Manchester United have already brought in a new forward this summer in the shape of Joshua Zirkzee, and adding another striker at this stage of the window is unlikely, with the Red Devils having other priorities, including signing a central midfielder.
