Manchester City to try and go 4 points ahead of Arsenal

Relegation threatened Leeds will play Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium

(Football news) Manchester City have won their last 9 Premier League games. A win in their next game against Leeds will take them 4 points above Arsenal with the same amount of games played. Manchester City are heavy favorites to win the game Leeds United do have the new manager bounce in their favor. Javi Garcia was sacked earlier this week to bring in survival specialist Sam Allardyce. Leeds are currently 17th on the table and could slip into the relegation zone at any time. If they somehow manage to win this game then it is a game changer in the fight for survival.

Manchester City have a fully fit squad with zero injuries. Kevin De Bruyne missed the last two games due to an injury but he is back in training and should play some part in this game. Guardiola is likely to rest a few of his key players including Erling Haaland as they prepare for the crucial Champions League semi final against Real Madrid on Tuesday. Leeds on the other hand will be without Luis Sinisterra, Tyler Adams, Stuart Dallas and Liam Cooper. It will be interesting to see if Allardyce changes the system or the personnel because he hasn’t had much time with the squad.

If Guardiola does rest too many players then it will be a risk. Despite the general acceptance that the league is in Manchester City’s hands, Arsenal are not that far behind. Leeds need to stitch a few wins to get out of the relegation battle. A win may be far fetched but an improved performance which will bring some confidence in the group is probably realistic.
