(Football news) The attacking midfielder has scored three goals and registered one assist in nine appearances for Shakhtar this term, while he has featured on two occasions in the Champions League in the early stages of the season.

As per reports, both Liverpool and Manchester City had scouts in attendance for Shakhtar’s Champions League clash with Atalanta BC last week, with Sudakov the focus of their attention.

The report claims that the Premier League duo will continue to ‘assess’ his performances in the coming months with a view to making a move during next summer’s transfer window.

Sudakov came through the youth system at Shakhtar, and he has represented the club on 110 occasions, scoring 23 goals and registering 19 assists in the process.

Liverpool, Manchester City ‘scouting Shakhtar star Sudakov’

The attacker’s best work for Shakhtar this season has come in the Premier Liga, scoring three times and registering one assist, including goals in his last two league appearances.

Sudakov has also represented Ukraine on 22 occasions in all competitions, scoring three goals and registering five assists in the process, including a goal in his last outing against the Czech Republic.

Manchester City allegedly view the Ukrainian as a potential replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, with the Belgian seemingly entering the latter stages of his career with the Premier League champions.

Could De Bruyne leave Manchester City next summer?

De Bruyne’s contract with Pep Guardiola’s side is due to expire in June 2025, and there are currently huge question marks when it comes to his future.

The 33-year-old is thought to have serious offers from Saudi Arabia and the MLS, and this could prove to be his final season for Manchester City, although a contract extension cannot be ruled out.

De Bruyne has missed Manchester City’s last two Premier League matches with a hamstring issue, while he was also not involved in the team’s last Champions League fixture with Slovan Bratislava.

The attacker will remain on the sidelines until after the October international break, meaning that he will also not be involved in Belgium’s upcoming fixtures against Italy and France in the UEFA Nations League.

De Bruyne has been with Man City since 2015, and he has represented the club on 388 occasions in all competitions, scoring 103 goals and registering 171 assists in the process.
