(Football news) In the past four years, Manchester City have gotten the better of almost every team in the Premier League but one fixture where they struggle is away at Tottenham Hotspur. The North London club have won their last 4 home fixtures against Manchester City and they desperately need to do the same if they are to stay in the top 4 race. Spurs are currently 5th, 3 points behind Newcastle United and Manchester United having played 1 game more. Manchester City on the other hand are 5 points behind Arsenal who have a game in hand.
Brazilian duo Richarlison and Lucas Maura will be back for Tottenham Hotspur. Pedro Porro is in the squad and is likely to make Tottenham Hotspur debut against his former club Manchester City. Antonio Conte has health issues and hence he will not be with the team. Assistant manager Cristian Stellini will be on the touchline for Spurs. Manchester City will be without John Stones who was taken off after an injury against Arsenal in the FA Cup clash. Phil Foden is a massive doubt as he has been struggling with a foot injury.
Due to the way both the teams play, Spurs always seem to cause City troubles. In the reverse fixture at the Etihad Stadium, Tottenham were leading 2-0 at half but Manchester City came back to score four 2nd half goals and win the game. Pep Guardiola’s men cannot afford to lose any more matches as they are already so far behind in the title race. Two of the best strikers in the league i.e Harry Kane and Erling Haaland will once again go head to head.
