(Football news) Manchester United will be without Casemiro when they welcome Leeds United at Old Trafford in the Premier League. The Brazilian received a straight red card in his team’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, resulting in a three match ban while Leeds United’s relegation fears grew as they lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest. It looked like a routine victory for Manchester United before the Red Devils were reduced to 10 men, resulting in Crystal Palace getting on the scoresheet through Jeffrey Schlupp. However, the hosts managed to hold on to their slender advantage, thanks to the home support, and are now just three points behind Manchester City.

Manchester United’s early season defeats to Brighton and Brentford seem like an eternity ago and the Red Devils have found the net at least twice in 12 matches at home, the exception being a 1-0 win over West Ham United in October. In team news for Erik ten Hag’s side, new signing Marcel Sabitzer could make his full debut due to Casemiro’s absence while Antony, Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen are also unavailable. Portuguese right back Diogo Dalot is available for selection once again and will give Aaron Wan Bissaka some competition in the starting lineup.

As for Leeds United, Robin Koch will return to the squad after his ban but Archie Gray, Rodrigo, Stuart Dallas, Sonny Perkins and Adam Forshaw all remain sidelined. Crysencio Summerville could feature in the starting lineup after featuring as a substitute in the last match while Brenden Aaronson and record signing Georginio Rutter are also available for selection. Weston McKennie could feature in the starting lineup for the first time since his loan move from Juventus, particularly considering that Marc Roca had a poor performance against Nottingham Forest. Despite Casemiro’s absence, a victory for Manchester United seems like the most likely result from this fixture.

Manchester United possible starting lineup:

De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Sabitzer, Fred; Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford; Weghorst

Leeds United possible starting lineup:

Meslier; Ayling, Koch, Cooper, Wober; Adams, McKennie; Sinisterra, Aaronson, Gnonto; Rutter
