(Cricket news) The veteran Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah makes a come back to the Bangladesh squad, being picked up for their upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka. Mahmudullah returns to the T20 set-up for the first time in nearly 2 years.
Mahmudullah is having a good stint at the ongoing Bangladesh Premier league where he is playing for the Fortune Barishal. He has scored runs at an average of nearly 31. He also had a decent World Cup in India. His good performances have been rewarded, as the 38-year old return to the T20 squad.
Shakib Al Hasan, the former Bangladesh skipper however, was not included in the squad, for either the T20Is or the opening two ODIs of the three-match series due to his eye problem.
Aliss Al Islam, a mystery spinner got a maiden call-up fot the national side as he is included in the 15-member squad. Mohammad Naim and Anamul Haque, left-arm spinner Taijul Islam and pacer Taskin Ahmed also make their return to the national side to face the Lankan challenge.
The three T20I will be played in Sylhet respectively on 4, 6 and 9 March 2024.
T20I squad: Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Litton Das, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Mohammad Naim, Towhid Hridoy, Soumya Sarkar, Mahedi Hasan, Mahmudullah, Taijul Islam, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Aliss Al Islam.
