(Sports news) Six Maha champion teams came into the limelight as the Maha Mumbai Kabaddi League concluded on a high. The second season of the league gave 500+ kabaddi athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills. With 12 franchises, 36 teams and each franchise having three teams in different age categories, the MMKL is bigger than ever before. The 12 teams include Mumbai Ultras Kabaddi Club, Gavali Dhurandhar, Mumbai che Maharaje, Raje Chandra rao Warriors, Borivali Bahubali, August Kranti Express, Goregaon Gladiators and Namo Bharat Chembur in the men's category and Goregaon Gladiators, Mumbai chi Mahashakti, Mumbai Upnagar Express and Mumbai Ultras Kabaddi Club in the women's category. The league took place at University of Mumbai’s Kalina Campus from August 13th to 28th with four women franchises and eight men franchises.
Many star studded names were present at the tournament including Arjuna Award winner and ex-kabaddi player Mrs. Monika Nath and the Pro Kabaddi League star Sushant Sail of Puneri Paltan. The league also included dignitaries from the Maharashtra Kabaddi Association, including the State and National Level Women Kabaddi Players of the yesteryears at the Exhibition Match. Such was the success of the league that it got 800k + views with 15 Mn+ digital impressions across all platforms!
SportVot digitised the entire player journey at the Sheru Classic Maha Mumbai Kabaddi League and the tournament was streamed online as well as the players’ digital profiles were created which helped the management and coaches give attention to the athletes.
