(Cricket news) Chennai Super Kings were handed their 3rd defeat in as many games by Punjab Kings as they won by 54 runs. Ravindra Jadeja finally won a toss after losing the previous 2 and elected to bowl first. CSK made one change by replacing Tushar Deshpande with Chris Jordan while PBKS bought in Vaibhav Arora and Jitesh Sharma for Harpreet Brar and Raj Bawa.
Batting first, PBKS put 180 runs on the board. Liam Livingston proved his worth with an incredible 60 off 32 balls. Debutant Jitesh Sharma and veteran Shikhar Dhawan played small cameos to get their side to a good total. Apart from Dhawan and Livingston's 3rd wicket stand, PBKS didn't have any other big partnerships but still kept scoring runs at a regular rate. For CSK, Chris Jordan and Dwaine Pretorius picked up two wickets each while Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo and Mukesh Choudhary got a scalp each.
Chasing 181 runs, the only CSK batter that looked in good touch was Shivam Dube who hit 57 off 30 balls. Other than him only MS Dhoni crossed the 20 run mark and that too when it was too late. Rahul Chahar was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3/25 while Liam Livingston and Vaibhav Arora got two scalps each. Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh and Odean Smith chipped in with a wicket each as CSK were all-out for 126 runs. Stephen Fleming has a lot of thinking to do before the next game in terms of team combination and batting order.
