Robert Lewandowski, forward for FC Barcelona, offered his thoughts on the team’s 4-1 victory over Girona in the 29th round of La Liga.
“ Although we had the game under control, we lacked that crucial last pass. We increased our aggression and generated more opportunities in the second half. We scored a couple goals, which is crucial because you have to remain composed and follow the strategy if you can’t reach the net right away. You can always claim you had a great game when you score four goals.”
“Although a lot of people comment on how old I am, I know that I am still working hard. I want to continue playing at the best level for a few more years. Physically, I feel fantastic. I am exactly the same person now as I was a few years ago in terms of performance. We are aware that we will continue to play at a high level right up until the conclusion. We will become really dangerous if we maintain the same level of attention as in this game.”
“What I have to do for the team is what matters most to me. I am aware that I am benefiting the squad by scoring two goals. Confidence is essential for a forward. Every time I get the ball, I always consider scoring if I’m in the box or close to it.”
