(Football news) Leeds United have agreed a deal with Feyenoord to sign Luis Sinisterra, with the 23-year-old is set to become Raphinha’s replacement at Elland Road. Raphinha is a player targeted by the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona this summer. Chelsea have reportedly agreed a fee with Leeds for his move, but the Brazilian seemingly only wants to join Barcelona. Leeds will pay Feyenoord €25 million for Sinisterra, plus add-ons. The initial payment of £21.4m is Feyenoord’s record sale of a player.
The winger has already agreed a long-term contract with Jesse Marsch’s team, which will last until June 2027. Leeds have already made some serious moves during the current transfer window. He will likely become their sixth summer signing as the Whites have already landed Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca and Darko Gyabi. They are also on the verge of announcing Tyler Adams’ move from RB Leipzig, which looks set to go through before the Sinisterra deal.
The West Yorkshire club needed to bring in top talent to replace the likes of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips. Marsch is getting an exciting and deadly player in Sinisterra who last season registered 23 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for Feyenoord. The five-capped Colombian international also gained experience in Europe, making 12 appearances in the Uefa Europa Conference League as Feyenoord lost to Roma in the final. Sinisterra has big shoes to fill to succeed Raphinha. However, he has the ability to get goals and also get Leeds fans excited with his trickery. Leeds might not stop with Sinisterra, as they have targeted Charles De Ketelaere and Victor Orta who are on the clubs radar this summer.
