Sam Allardyce is set to become the new manager of Leeds

(Football news) Leeds United have sacked Javi Garcia and are set to replace him with Sam Allardyce as the new manager of the club with only four Premier League games remaining in a desperate bid to avoid relegation. Sam Allardyce is going to be the third manager this season after Gracia replaced Jesse Marsch on Feb. 21. The former Watford manager was dismissed on Sunday after a five-match winless run as the 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth was the final nail in the coffin

Allardyce is set to be announced as the club’s new manager today and will take training for the first time. Leeds have endured a dismal run recently, a run which included a 5-1 loss to Crystal Palace and a 6-1 drubbing to Liverpool. The Yorkshire club are 17th in the Premier League table, level on points with Nottingham Forest who are 18th and occupy the league’s final relegation spot. But looking at the current form Leeds look destined to get relegated unless and until Allardyce works his magic

The former England manager returns to the Premier League for the first time since he was sacked by West Bromwich Albion in 2021. He was sacked after failing to keep the club in the Premier League. The 68-year-old has managed the likes of West Ham United in 181 Premier League matches from 2011-15, Everton, Palace, Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers, and Newcastle United. Leeds have arguably the toughest fixture list compared to their relegation-threatened rivals as they face Manchester City on Saturday before hosting Newcastle.

They also will face Sam Allardyce’s former club West Ham in their penultimate game before playing the final game against Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the season. Saturday’s heavy defeat to Bournemouth led to some detrimental changes at the club. The Leeds Supporters Advisory Board issued a statement of no confidence in manager Javi Gracia and Victor Orta, who is Leeds’ director of football, as both were sacked by the club’s owners Andrea Radrizzani.

“I am deeply saddened by the way that this chapter closes as Victor has been responsible for some of the best moments of my time as owner of Leeds United and I thank him and his people for all they have done in the past six years,” a statement from Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani said.

“However, it is clear that it is time to change direction and therefore we have agreed that Victor will leave the club. I understand supporters are hurt and upset, but now is a time for unity. We have four cup finals left to play this season and working together, I believe we can survive.”
