Leandro Paredes Returns to Boca Juniors

The son of the prodigal returns home.  Leandro Paredes is returning to Boca Juniors after his midfield wizardry helped Argentina win the 2022 World Cup.  As the club has successfully courted him back with an alluring offer, the excitement around his return has electrified the Boca community.  The crux of the matter?  Terms comparable to his present contract at Roma, arranged by the Football Council and the astute Juan Roman Riquelme.  His Italian chapter will come to an end in a few hours when the €3.5 million release clause is activated.

With a contract that runs through December 2028, Paredes isn’t just coming back; he’s coming back as a superstar and one of the team’s top earners, which shows how much Boca values him.  After eleven years of perfecting his skills on Europe’s top field, he is pulled back to the team that helped mold him as a player. His football career began with Boca in 2010.

Paredes will start preseason training with the first squad on July 1 at the expansive Ezeiza facility as soon as the release paperwork is finalized.  At La Bombonera stadium, where his formal unveiling may take place, fans can practically hear the echo of cries that will rise, enabling club members and supporters to give their heartfelt welcome.
