Klopp: “I Leave When It’s Enough”

The 57-year-old former manager of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp, has joined Red Bull as Global Football Director.

Following his resignation from Liverpool, Klopp had his first press conference as Red Bull’s Global Football Director. The former manager talked about his reasons for leaving the English team and accepting this new challenge in his career.

Regarding his choice to leave Liverpool, Klopp was clear in his response but did not elaborate on the reasons.

“You can’t accuse me of anything since I’ve always claimed to love what I did. Always. But as soon as I believe that I am not the best person for the position, which has always been the case at every team I have worked for, including Mainz, Dortmund, and Liverpool, I speak up. “I appreciate honesty, and when I realized it was sufficient, I departed,” he started.

The German talked about his present responsibilities and promised that he had no trouble adjusting because he views himself as an inquisitive individual.

“It wasn’t a significant issue. In reality, I had no plans for the future—not even in this sense—despite attending a few meetings and hearing some information about it. I was totally into it when I was a coach. As a coach, I always wanted to be the best version of myself, but it’s really demanding work when you’ve been doing it for 24 or 25 years.

The problem is that, as a naturally curious person, I was unable to see that element in game after game. I wasn’t really pleased. The daily ‘Kicker’ stated his conclusion: “I always want to learn new things, and when I realized this, I knew from that moment that it was the right step for me.”

It is important to note that Red Bull, which owns Bragantino (Brazil), Leipzig (Germany), Salzburg (Austria), and New York Red Bull (USA), now includes Jurgen Klopp.
