(Cricket News) Indian batting all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has called time to his cricketing career. The Maharashtra veteran announced his retirement through a post on Instagram on Monday, and captioned it as, “Thank you all For your love and support throughout my Career from 1500 hrs Consider me as retired from all forms of cricket.”
Jadhav made his international debut in November 2014 in an ODI against Sri Lanka. He batted in the middle-order for the Indian side, for most of his international career and also played the role of deceptive bowler, bowling his slingy off-spinners. He went on to make his debut in the shortest format against Zimbabwe in July 2015.
In his international career that lasted less than a decade, Jadhav played 73 ODIs and 9 T20Is for India. In his 52 innings in the 50-over format, he scored a total of 1389 runs at a healthy average of 42.1. He also grabbed 27 wickets in his 42 innings as a bowler. In the shortest format, Jadhav failed to leave an impression scoring just 122 runs in 6 innings.
Jadhav made a breakthrough to the national circuit much earlier, in the year 2010 when he scored a fantastic 29-ball 50* playing for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the Indian Premier League. He further went on to be a part of several IPL teams that included the Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
He left a strong impact to his domestic side Maharashtra, where he featured in 87 first-class games and scored 6100 runs at an average of above 48. Jadhav smashed 17 centuries and 23 fifties in his long domestic career. He also played a crucial role to help Maharashtra to a Ranji trophy final in 2013-14, where was the leading run getter with 1223 runs in the season.
