(Football news) Juventus day went from bad to worse as they were humiliated by Empoli as they suffered a 4-1 defeat after they were deducted 10 points in a new verdict over their transfer situation. Juve learned about the new court verdict before kickoff as they dropped down to seventh on 59 points subsequently one point behind Roma who occupy the Conference league place in sixth and are five points adrift of fourth-placed AC Milan with only two games left.

Juventus started crumbling as Sebastiano Luperto doubled Empoli’s lead in the 21st minute before Caputo scored his second of the night to make it 3-0 just. Federico Chiesa got a goal back for Juve five minutes from time which was just a consolation goal. Roberto Piccoli put the final nail in the coffin to seal an emphatic victory with a goal in stoppage time.
Empoli were awarded a penalty for Milik’s foul on Cambiaghi and Empoli’s main man Caputo scored from the spot to put the hosts in front in the 18th minute. Before the Old Lady could settle down they were 2-0 three minutes later when Luperto doubled their lead following a corner. Empoli dominated after the break and then further went on to add another goal two minutes into the second half.
Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro made a brilliant run and then passed the ball to Caputo and chipped the ball over the keeper to make it 3-0. Juventus finally scored after the half-time as substitute Chiesa pulled a goal back in his 200th appearance in Serie A. Juventus were knocked out of the Europa League semi finals by Sevilla following a 3-2 aggregate loss and now are out of the European places as Allegri’s season is taking a turn for the worse. Juve had previously won all five against Empoli under Allegri but this time around a resurgent Empoli had different ideas.
“Summing up a season in an evening like this is an understatement,” said Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri. “It was a strange situation, 10 minutes before the match the sentence came out. Juventus are used to winning, we have to close ranks. There are six points up for grabs and Milan arrive on Sunday.”
