(Football news) Jude Bellingham is probably the hottest property in European football right now. There have been rumors about this season being his last with BVB ever since the World Cup started. Liverpool were said to be one of the front runners in the race but they pulled out a month ago. Manchester City and Real Madrid were the other two candidates to sign Jude Bellingham. Now according to various reliable reports Madrid are one step away from signing the Englishman. Manchester City have been rejected and Bellingham has made his decision with only the final details to be sorted out before an agreement for a 5 year contract.
Real Madrid are yet to open official negotiations with Borussia Dortmund but considering that Jude Bellingham still has 2 years left on his contract the fee is likely to be above €100 million. The negotiations shouldn’t be too difficult for Real Madrid as they have an excellent relationship with BVB. From Bellingham’s point of view, he has chosen the club that is most likely to win him titles, especially the Champions League.
Real Madrid is the pinnacle of world football and it isn’t surprising that he has chosen to go there. Madrid have talented young players like Eder Militao, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Fede Valverde, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga and Vinicius Jr who along with Bellingham have the ability to dominate the next decade.
Apart from the youngsters, there are veterans like Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos who are set to stay for another year. It will be great for Jude Bellingham to play with these legends and learn from them. Real Madrid have a stacked midfield and they also need a right back and striker, which is why Bellingham wasn’t a necessity. However it is a good deal as the midfielder is a generational talent. He is still only 19 years of age which is perfect for Real Madrid. His arrival puts Dani Ceballos future at the Bernabeu in massive doubt as even if he stays the Spaniard will be 7th choice midfielder.
