(Football news) Joshua Kimmich joined Bayern from Stuttgart in the summer of 2015, and he has been with the team for the most of his career.
Over his nine years in Bavaria, Kimmich has seen great success, having contributed to the team’s eight Bundesliga championships, three DFB-Pokal medals, six German Super Cups, a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup, and a Club World Cup.
The Germany international has played in 31 games this season across all competitions, maintaining his role as a key member of the Bayern team. Despite being one of the first names on the roster, Kimmich’s contract status casts doubt on his long-term future at the Allianz Arena.
As of right now, Kimmich and the German champions are unable to come to an agreement on a new contract. His present one expires in June 2025.
Max Eberl, a board member of Bayern Munich, recently said that the player’s future will probably depend on the incoming manager, since head coach Thomas Tuchel is expected to step down at the end of the season.
A number of elite European teams are apparently interested in signing Kimmich, who is thought to be receptive to the idea of a new challenge.Kimmich would be willing to join five teams in the summer, including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man City.
Kimmich, who has reportedly communicated with some of the five teams, is also thought to be interested in Real Madrid and Barcelona.
