(Cricket News) Josh Brown, a batter for the Brisbane Heat, has signed with the Chattogram Challengers to play in the Bangladesh Premier League. The team announced the news to its supporters on Wednesday, January 24, and stated that the 30-year-old will become a member of the team on January 26, in time for their games in Sylhet.
The Challengers have made a strong start to the tournament, defeating Durdanto Dhaka and Sylhet Strikers in their first two games of the season.
Against Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League 2023–24 Challenger match, Brown broke numerous records with an incredible 140 (57) that featured ten fours and twelve sixes—the most in a single BBL innings—as well as the second-fastest century in BBL history off just 41 balls.
In the final, Brown once again shone, scoring an incredible half-century (53 off 38) to help his team reach 166/8 in their allocated 20 overs. This total proved to be sufficient as Brisbane defeated Sydney Sixers by 54 runs to win their second BBL title.
An AAP report stated that Brown’s management had received offers from the BPL and ILT20 prior to the BBL final, and the cricketer had indicated his interest in the deals.
“I would be intrigued, without a doubt. I just need to keep scoring runs,” Brown said, seizing the chance if it presented itself.
