(Cricket news) The ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is likely to be rested from the 4th test, which is set to be played at the JSCA International stadium in Ranchi. The decision might be taken in order to manage the workload of the fast bowler.
Bumrah was about to be rested for the third test, but given the situation of the series he wasn’t given a break. However, he now well get a break from the next game, after all the hard work that he has put in for his side in the first three games. He has already sent down 80.5 overs in the three games so far.
Bumrah is currently the leading wicket taker of the series with 17 wickets to his name at an average of 13.64. The stats are also the testimony for the pacer’s brilliance; being the leading wicket taker in conditions which does not offer a lot to the fast bowlers. He had a major role to play in India’s victory in the Vizag test and bowled some exceptional spells in the other two games as well.
He is all likeliness will drive back to Ahmedabad on Monday and will not travel to Ranchi with the Indian side. Mukesh Kumar who will join the side in Ranchi after his appearance for Bengal in a Ranji game, might get a chance in Bumrah’s absence. India also have the services of another Bengal seamer, Akash Deep, available after he got a maiden call-up for the national side.
