(Sports news) In a men’s first round match of the 6th Cello NSCI Open National Circuit squash event, held by NSCI at their glass backed squash courts. Rakesh Jain of host Club NSCI defeated Sanjay Suri 11-9, 9-11, 11-8 to start his campaign. The competition is co-sponsored by Hbits and Rubicon Consumer Healthcare.
Bollywood actress and ardent squash player Suri, who rallied to tie the match, ran out of steam against Jain in the last game. In other matches, Tejas Sakhare defeated Sandeep Aryan 11-8, 4-11, 11-2 while Maharashtra’s Sanjay Pawar overcame a first-game setback to defeat Prashant Sagar 9-11, 11-5, 11-4.
Neerav Dahiya and Shaurya Murarka, who were from outstations, were eliminated early after losing to local competitors in the first round. Aalay Agarwal of Maharashtra overcame Haryana’s Dahiya 12-10, 11-4, while Murarka was unable to keep up the momentum after winning the first game and fell to Arnav Dharia 11-6, 6-11, 6-11.
