(Cricket news) India announced their squad for the T20I series against West Indies as there were plenty of surprises in the team selection .The main talking point, is that Ravichandran Ashwin is back in the T20 side and the three marquee players Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli and Yuzvendra Chahal have been rested.
The squad will be led by Rohit Sharma with the possibility of a much awaited return for KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav who will be returning to the side if they are cleared fit. Both had been sidelined by serious injuries recently and have been in the recovery phase since then. The squad also sees the return of offspinner R Ashwin to the T20I squad, with Rahul Dravid and co keen to test out all possibilities ahead of the much awaited T20 World Cup later this year. After a long hiatus from the white ball squad, Ashwin made a surprising comeback in the T20I World Cup last year but has not been a regular fixture in the side, with injuries also playing a part in his exclusion.

India have already named their ODI squad that was missing some of their regular members, and is going to be led by Shikhar Dhawan. Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant have been named in the T20I squad after they were subsequently rested for the 3 ODIs.
