(Cricket news) After winning the T20I series, India now gear up for 3 ODIs against England. England will be under the leadership of new captain Jos Buttler. India on the other hand have called up their strongest squad. Apart from the injured KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav all the players in this squad are likely to be a part of the World Cup next year. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will be playing an ODI together for the first time in 2 years. This series will be a very good preparation for the World Cup next year for both the teams. 

India's ideal playing XI:

Openers: Shikhar Dhawan & Rohit Sharma

India's tried and trusted opening partnership in the One day format will be back in action once again. They have been incredible performers for India in the past but they haven't played a lot of cricket together lately. The left and right hand combination at the top is going to be very crucial for India. Ishan Kishan is the other option but Rohit and Dhawan are definitely first choice.

Middle order: Virat Kohli & Suryakumar Yadav

Virat Kohli hasn't been in great form but his place in the ODI squad isn't as rocky as the T20Is and he will be of utmost importance in this side. Suryakumar Yadav is just fresh off a magnificent hundred in the 3rd T20I. He will now be looking to translate that form into the one-dayers. Yadav's dynamic style of play which allows him to score all across the ground will be a big positive for India. KL Rahul's absence is a good opportunity for Yadav to try and establish himself in the ODIs.

Wicket keeper: Rishabh Pant

Pant has been in very good form on  this tour and he will be hoping to continue it in the ODIs. Ishan Kishan is the other wicket keeping option but Pant will definitely play especially in KL Rahul's absence. The gloveman is likely to bat at number 4 or number depending on who gets out to keep the left hand right hand combination going. 

All-rounders: Hardik Pandya & Ravindra Jadeja

India is very lucky to have these two impeccable all-rounders in their side. They are likely to bowl 10 overs between them and will bat towards the end to try and finish the game. So far on this tour Jadeja has been performing well with the bat but with the ball he has been a little underwhelming. The ODIs is a good opportunity for him to showcase his ability with the ball. Pandya's fitness will be tested as he will be playing an ODI as an all-rounder after a long time. It will be interesting to see how he copes if asked to bowl his full quota of 10 overs. 

Seamers: Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah & Prasidh Krishna

Shami is back in the ODI squad after a long time. The seamer hasn't played an international white ball game in a while but he is too good to sit on the bench. Jasprit Bumrah's selection is also a no-brainer as he will lead this bowling attack. Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh are all good options but Prasidh Krishna deserves to be in the line-up. He has been India's best seamer in this format ever since he made his debut. The only reason for India to go with Thakur will be if they want to make their batting deeper. 

Spinner: Yuzvendra Chahal

India have put their maximum trust in Chahal as he is the only specialist spinner in the side. He will have a very difficult task of bowling to Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes but it will be interesting to see how he deals with them. Even though there is no direct replacement, India could go with an extra seamer or Axar Patel to make the batting deeper.

Bench: Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh
