Indian and Australian Deputy Prime Ministers to Grace 2023 Cricket World Cup Final in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles will be present at the World Cup cricket match between Australia and India, which is scheduled to take place here on Sunday, according to official statements.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met with top officials on Friday in Gandhinagar to supervise security and other preparations for the game, which is scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles will be present at the match on Sunday,” the release stated.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure that common people do not suffer due to VIP movement and asked them to provide proper information about closed roads and diversions to people in advance.

The Chief Minister also asked officials to increase the frequency of metro trains running towards Motera station (near the stadium) for the convenience of fans, who are expected to travel from different parts of the country and abroad.

According to multiple sources, police officials informed the Chief Minister about the elaborate arrangements in place for the smooth conduct of the match, including the deployment of 4,500 personnel to provide security to the ground, teams, and VIPs, as well as to handle traffic management.
