India Unleashed-Fight Night all set to give professional boxing a pro touch for the first time

According to a press release by LZ Promotions, they are all geared up to bring the thrill of professional boxing to India with its fight Night in Jalandhar- ‘India Unleashed’ on May 1.

Professional boxing, which enjoys a great number of fans all around the world, is yet to attract the limelight in India. Parm Goraya’s goal is to better the lives of Indian boxers and aims to make it big with planned fight nights.

The Indian Boxing Commission (IBC) has approved ‘India Unleashed’ and Goraya wants to bring in changes with a USA styled boxing format and help professional boxing in India. 

“Definitely there is huge potential for pro boxing in India. It just needs a structured ecosystem and an approach that has the quality to be called fight nights. The 'India Unleashed' fight night is our effort and a step in the right direction to make pro-boxing a hit. I’m sure ‘India Unleashed’ will set a benchmark and contribute to the development of boxers in the country. My plan is to bring in more such fights and initiate a professional Indian circuit which guarantees quality fights,” Goraya, CEO of LZ Promotions, said at the official launch press conference on Friday.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) super star Dalip Singh, more popularly known as “The Great Khali”, has shown his support to Goraya and his endeavors to evolve the professional boxing scenario in India. The first of the fight nights will take place at Khali’s Academy in Jalandhar.

Consisting of 10 fight cards, the ‘India Unleashed’ fight night will comprise top-20 talents scouted and selected through the country.

The event will be a star studded affair with the likes of Pawan Goyat, Chandni Mehra (featherweight) and Suman Kumari (lightweight). Among the three, Goyat will be gunning for a title shot.
