(Cricket news) After winning two nail biting ODIs, India now eye for a 2nd consecutive ODI series whitewash against West Indies. Despite resting so many of the big boys, India have managed to win the series and now it would be about making a statement with a whitewash. West Indies have played some brilliant cricket in the first two matches and they will be looking to get a win to avoid a whitewash and to also take the confidence into the 5 match T20I series. India could prioritise giving some other players a match over a whitewash.
India's possible playing XI:
Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh
Bench: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Avesh Khan
It will be very difficult to drop Axar Patel after his man of the match performance on Sunday but Jadeja is available and he also needs some match time especially in this format. Arshdeep Singh has been waiting a long time for his debut and it might happen now. Ishan Kishan could finally get an ODI game while Ruturaj Gaikwad is likely to stay on the bench because of Shubman Gill's form.
West Indies possible playing XI:
Shai Hope, Kyle Mayers, Brandon King, Shamarh Brooks, Nicholas Pooran (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Romario Shepherd, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Hayden Walsh Jr., Jayden Seales
Bench: Keacy Carty, Jason Holder, Keemo Paul, Gudakesh Motie
There isn't a particular thing which West Indies need to change as such. Their bowling with the new ball has to be better as they tend to miss their lines quite a lot. The Windies need to pick up wickets at regular intervals which is where their spinners will have to bring their A game. Both the sides go straight into the T20Is after this and both will be keen for a victory to take some momentum into the 5 match T20 series. West Indies have already suffered 2 white washes against India this year and they would like to win this one match just for pride.
