India Falls to Jordan in FIBA OT Thriller

India’s men’s basketball team played their hearts out on the floor but were unable to defeat a powerful Jordanian squad in their first Group C match at the FIBA Asia Cup 2025.  In a nail-biting thriller that went into overtime, India fell just short with a score of 84-91.  The setback, albeit stinging, demonstrated the Indian squad’s tenacity against a juggernaut, kindling optimism and setting the tone for their future participation in this important event hosted in Saudi Arabia.

India put in a passionate and tenacious effort under Coach Scott Flemming’s direction.  The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both sides trading punches till the end.  However, in overtime, Jordan recovered their groove, pushing ahead with big plays that ended the Indian rally.  The near-upset kept viewers on the edge of their seats, demonstrating how strongly India competed in this high-octane match.

Jordan’s Dar Tucker was the night’s standout, scoring a remarkable 30 points to seal the victory for his side.  On the Indian side, perseverance was the theme of the game; every player battled tooth and nail to keep the score close until the last bell.  While the setback is disappointing, this encounter might be the spark India needs to refuel their fire as they prepare for the difficulties ahead in the campaign.
