India beats USA in the U19 CWC to top Group A

(Cricket news) Defending champions India registered yet another dominating win in the ICC U19 CWC, their third in three games to top the Group A table. They thrashed USA by 201 runs  in Bloemfontein and ended their league stage with a bang.

Being put into bat India were off to good start, before Adarsh Singh was dismissed in the 12th over. Musheer Khan who came to bat at 3, then joined hands with Arshin Kulkarni and continued his good form. Arshin, who came into this world cup with a big reputation scored a wonderful century, his first in this world cup to help his team post 326 runs on the board.

The 155-run stand for the second wicket between Kulkarni and Musheer really propelled India. Musheer continued from where he left off in the previous game and ended up scoring a wonderful 73 from just 76 balls. Middle order batters along with captain Uday Saharan (35 off 27) further helped India to a very strong total after being sent in to bat.

Chasing a big score USA started in the worst possible manner losing 2 wickets in the first two overs of the innings. Naman Tiwari (4 for 20) was the pick of the bowlers for India, while all the other bowlers chipped in and conceded runs at an economy of less than 4. However, India would not have been very happy, as USA batted for 50 overs despite only getting 125 runs against a well-balanced assault, thanks to 40 from Utkarsh Srivastava and 27* from Amogh Arepally.
