(Cricket news) India lost the thrilling 1st ODI against Bangladesh by just 1 wicket. The batting and fielding was a let down while the bowling was good but then crumbled towards the end. It is important that India get back to playing good cricket in the ODIs especially with the World Cup coming up next year. India have a lot of ODIs coming up but they need to find rhythm very soon. Bangladesh is never an easy place for an away team but India were still expected to win the series. The loss in the 1st game is a setback but India have a lot of talent in their squad to launch a comeback.
India’s possible playing XI:
Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Sen
Bench: Rajat Patidar, Rahul Tripathi, Ishan Kishan, Shahbaz Ahmed, Umran Malik
Axar Patel was unavailable for selection in the last match for unknown reasons but if available he will come back in for Shahbaz Ahmed in this game. India’s bowling line-up did a good job in the last game and all of them apart from Ahmed are likely to be retained. It is the batting and the fielding that needs to improve from India’s point of view. For a number of years Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli have been scoring a bulk load of runs on a consistent basis but they have slowed down. Now will be a really good time for the trio to pick up the pace.
Bangladesh possible playing XI:
Litton Das (c), Anamul Haque, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Ebadot Hossain
Bench: Nurul Hasan, Yasir Ali, Taskin Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed
Bangladesh are likely to retain the same XI as the conditions will be the same. The bowlers did a really good job in the opening game but the batting was underwhelming. The tigers will have to do better in the middle overs to not let the ball pressure build especially while chasing. Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman will once again be the key for Bangladesh with the ball. India will definitely come back strong but this Bangladesh side has the ability to withstand that pressure.
