(Cricket news) The series so far has been pretty comfortable for India as they go into the 3rd and final ODI. It will be interesting to see what line-up Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid pick. They may go with their strongest side or choose to rest people. The match will be played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. New Zealand have a point to prove and even though they are missing 4 key players the Black Caps will be looking to get some consolation before going into the T20Is.
India’s possible playing XI:
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, KS Bharat, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Umran Malik, Yuzvendra Chahal,
Bench: Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Rajat Patidar, Shahbaz Ahmed
India have already sealed the series so they might be looking to rest a few of their players. With the Test series against Australia coming up, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj could do with a breather having played the last 5 ODIs. Umran Malik and Yuzvendra Chahal are the options to come in which means that Kul-Cha could be back in action after a long time. Hardik Pandya has to play the T20I series where he is captain and he is likely to be rested.
KS Bharat will have a very difficult job of replacing Rishabh Pant in the Test series against Australia so it is a good idea to hand him his international debut so that he can have a little practice even though it is with the white ball. This does mean that India will have only 5 bowlers out of which only 2 will be seamers but it does look like the right thing to do.
New Zealand possible playing XI:
Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Mark Chapman, Tom Latham, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Henry Shipley, Blair Tickner, Lockie Ferguson
Bench: Ish Sodhi, Jacob Duffy, Henry Nicholls
New Zealand need to switch things around in the batting department which is why Mark Chapman is likely to come into the side to bat at number 3. The other batters will also have to take more responsibility, especially the openers who just haven’t been able to deal with the new ball. The bowling also has a lot of room to improve as the youngsters Henry Shipley and Blair Tickner are yet to become comfortable at the international stage. It is undoubtedly difficult for New Zealand to leave out Ish Sodhi but as now now it is impossible to drop Mitchell Santner or Michael Bracewell.
