Icardi Faces Struggles at Galatasaray

Significant obstacles still surround Mauro Icardi in the wake of his widely reported divorce from Wanda Nara. The Argentine forward has got concerning news from Galatasaray, the Turkish club where he has been a vital player, following a contentious event at his daughter Francesca’s birthday party involving the actress China Suárez.

Icardi has become an important member of Galatasaray since 2022. He had to travel back to Argentina for recuperation after suffering a knee injury at the end of 2024, and he planned to stay there until the first week of March, when he is expected to resume team training. He has been fostering his friendship with Suárez while navigating the legal issues resulting from his breakup with Nara.

After suffering a severe ligament damage to his right knee, Icardi’s dedication to his recovery has been praised by Galatasaray club authorities. But the club was alarmed by his recent vacation to Mar del Plata, where he was seen having a good time with the former “Casi Ángeles” hero. It was disclosed on Monday that Galatasaray had given Icardi a severe ultimatum.

“The club has halted payments for Icardi’s rehabilitation in Argentina due to the absence of medical exams or documentation they requested,” sports analyst Pepe Ochoa stated on “LAM.” Icardi now has two options, according to Ochoa: stay in Argentina and pay for his own care, or go back to Turkey to finish his recuperation.

“Mitre Live” host Juan Etchegoyen verified the alarming information for the well-known athlete, who has been connected to Suárez pregnancy rumors. “After witnessing him out having a good time, the club’s officials called an urgent meeting. I would like to make it clear that although a decision to terminate the contract has not yet been made, it is being carefully considered,” he stated.

“This is not a sudden development,” Etchegoyen continued. For a while now, Icardi has been having trouble fulfilling his professional obligations. The Turkish club has threatened to terminate his contract unless he returns to Turkey for the balance of his recuperation.

Suárez plans to raise his girls with Icardi, away from Wanda Nara, but Icardi is now involved in a bitter legal struggle over custody of his daughters. Galatasaray has its sights set on a young football player to maybe replace the vacuum left by Icardi while the player negotiates personal mediations and legal matters.

According to the Turkish publication “Fanatik,” the club has expressed interest in 29-year-old Spanish player Marco Asensio, who is now with PSG and was recently extended an offer by Barcelona. “The yellow-red management intends to meet with PSG to discuss the situation and determine the potential acquisition cost for the player,” according to Turkish media.
