(Football news) Manchester United are building a new project under Erik Ten Hag. This season Manchester United won the Carabao Cup and are well set to finish 3rd or 4th in the Premier League. The form graph has been up and down with some very embarrassing defeats along the way. Before the start of next season, Manchester United could be under new ownership as the Glazer family is looking to sell the club. That would open the floor for some big money buys in the next window. A striker, a centre back and a midfielder are priority positions for Manchester United while there could also be some departures.

Neymar Jr is one player said to be on Manchester United’s list. The Brazilian’s career at PSG has been up and down throughout the last 6 years. The pros of signing him are that he is a world class player who can make a difference and single handedly win games. He is a talisman in every sense of the word but the cons are too many. The Brazilian’s injury record is possibly the biggest problem as he isn’t fully fit that often. Manchester United already have a number of wingers and attacking midfielders who play in the same position as him. Signing him would mean that United will have to ignore other positions which do need reinforcements.

Neymar’s current contract runs out in 2025 so he will cost Manchester United a significant amount of money. PSG fans have already made their feelings about Neymar clear by booing him and protesting in front of his house. Manchester United are building a project and signing Neymar could go either way. Ten Hag will have to build a system for him to prosper in which could backfire. Kim Min-Jae who is another player on the list would make much more sense at his moment in time as United need to bolster their defence.
