Haaland Breaks PL Goal Record

Many players have left their marks on the Premier League’s legendary history, and it has long been a venue for performances that will never be forgotten.  The record for the most goals scored by a player in a single season is one of these outstanding accomplishments that sticks out.

Erling Haaland, a Norwegian striker for Manchester City, broke this record in the 2022–2023 season by scoring an incredible 36 goals in one Premier League season.  The previous records set by legendary players Andy Cole and Alan Shearer, who each scored 34 goals in the 1993–94 and 1994–95 seasons, respectively, were surpassed by this accomplishment.  Interestingly, Haaland’s record was achieved over a 38-game season as opposed to previous years’ 42-game schedule.

Haaland won the coveted Premier League Golden Boot for his outstanding play, which also helped Manchester City win the Premier League that season.  Both critics and supporters praised him for his quick adjustment to English football and his clinical finishing in front of goal.

Several previous players have distinguished themselves by scoring amazing numbers of goals in a single season prior to Haaland’s record-breaking effort.  But none have been able to match Haaland’s achievements, ushering in a new era in Premier League history.
