(Cricket news) In a do or die match for SRH they see themselves losing the match to GT and shattering their dream of playing in this season’s IPL playoffs. SRH and DC are the only 2 teams out of 10 who don’t stand a chance to make it to the playoffs. 

A comprehensive win of 34 runs for GT helps them to qualify for the IPL playoffs. GT are the only team who have confirmed their pace in this season’s IPL playoffs.

SRH won the toss and chose to field first against GT at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Regardless of the outcome of the toss the GT batters had no problem batting first and they went on to put up a solid total of 188 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.  

Shubman Gill, the player of the match, scored a magnificent 101 (58b, 13×4, 1×6) which helped the team get a good score to defend. Gill was helped by his teammates like Sai Sudharsan as he scored 47 (36b, 6×4, 1×6). For SRH Bhuvneshwar Kumar had a great match as he took 5 wickets in his 4 overs spell and just gave away 30 runs.

While chasing the total of 189, SRH needed a good start indeed the top order of SRH was shambles, as Mohammmed Shami and Mohit Shamra took the bowling department into his control for GT. 

Heinrich Klaasen scored 64 (44b, 4×4, 3×6) and bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar helped the team with the bat by scoring 27 (26b, 3×4, 0x6). For GT Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma took 4 wickets each in their spell of 4 overs. GT dominated the whole game and did not let SRH settle and counter them in the whole game.

GT has played 13 games and they won 9 and lost 4 out of these. They have a total of 18 points which confirms that they will finish the IPL league stage either in the 1st or 2nd position. Means they will surely play the qualifier 1 in Chepauk. 

SRH won’t make it to the playoffs as they have played 12 games and have won only 4 games and lost 8. They have a total of 8 points and even if they win the remaining games they cannot make it to the 4th place.

GT has one game remaining where they will play RCB and SRH who have not qualified will try to stop other teams from qualifying as they will play MI and RCB in their remaining games and both MI RCB are running for the spot in the playoffs.

After the game between SRH and GT, Mohammed Shami from GT overtook his fellow teammate Rashid Khan for the most wickets or leading wicket taker in the IPL and has 23 wickets in 13 games which equal Rashid Khan’s wicket tally. Mohammed Shami is the current purple cap holder.
