Italy: In a postponed match from Serie A’s ninth matchday, Santiago Giménez recorded an assist in a disappointing 2-1 comeback loss to Bologna, demonstrating his continued dominance for a failing AC Milan team.
The Mexican striker missed a good chance in the first few minutes when he was passed just outside the area and his shot flew over the Bologna goal.
But Mike Maignan, Milan’s goalie, made a long clearing in the 43rd minute. Giménez jumped to win the ball with his back, creating the ideal situation for Rafael Leão, who ducked below the opposition’s goalkeeper and scored the first goal to give the Rossoneri a 1-0 lead.
Unfortunately for Milan, they were defeated in the second half. The players’ concentration on individual plays resulted in squandered opportunities to score goals. Bologna took advantage of this by scoring goals from Dan Ndoye in the 82nd minute and Santiago Castro in the 48th, capping a comeback that saw Milan lose.
A crucial assist from Giménez was insufficient to keep AC Milan from losing in serie A.
