(Football news) 17 year old Gavi is reportedly close to extending his contract with Barcelona till 2027. According to Fabrizio Romano all that is now left to complete are a few final details and that Gavi will sign a contract until 2027 with a €1 billion release clause in his contract. Barca now have already secured the futures of Pedri, Ansu Fati, and Ronald Araujo and it looks as though Gavi is now about to join his teammates in signing a new long-term contract at the Camp Nou and start a new era of La Masia graduates.
With 46 appearances in all competitions this season, the teenage midfielder maestro has established himself as a first team player in the squad. He has also scored twice and assisted six goals in La Liga this season. This news will certainly be music to the ears of Barcelona fans as Gavi had just over a year left on his current contract and was reportedly a Liverpool target according to Spanish reports and the Reds were prepared to increase the midfielder's current salary by 50%. Gavi had even rejected three contract proposals from the Catalans, fueling rumors of a transfer but ultimately he stayed loyal and signed a long term contract extension with the club.

The midfielders started in their UEFA Nations League semi-final victory over Italy in October last year and played a crucial role in that match.
