(Football news) UEFA Champions League never fails to amaze fans. We've reached half way through the group stage as every team has played their group stage opponents once.
Barcelona earned a narrow 1-0 win against Dynamo Kiev to open their account in the points table. Gerrard Pique scored the only goal of the game from a header. The goal was the centre back's 16th in the UCL, making him the joint highest scoring defender along with Roberto Carlos. The win was very crucial in keeping Barcelona's chances of qualifying alive and it was by no means an easy win as Kiev made the Catalan side work hard for the win. The win also gets the Blaugrana much needed momentum before the El Clasico.
Bayern Munich hit 4 past Benfica in Lisbon. The game was goalless till the 70th minute as Bayern had two goals disallowed by VAR. Leroy Sane broke the deadlock in the 70th minute. Bayern then scored 3 goals in 4 minutes via Robert Lewandowski, an own goal and another strike from Sane. The Bavarian side are flying under new manager Julian Nagelsmann as they sit at the top of the UCL table as well as the Bundesliga table.
Manchester United rolled back the years with back to back comebacks in UCL games. It was a game of two halves as Atalanta were all over United in the first half. Mario Pasalic and Merih Demiral scored to give Atalanta a two goal advantage. Manchester United did create a couple of very good chances towards the end of the half but couldn't find the back of the net. Demiral was subbed off at half time due to an injury and that disrupted Atalanta's defence. Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire scored two goals, both set up by Bruno Fernandes to level things for the hosts. They weren't done there as Cristiano Ronaldo scored a sublime header from Luke Shaw's cross to win the game. The win took United to the top of the table and has also given them a much needed confidence boost ahead of the Liverpool clash.

Chelsea ran riot over Malmo as they won 4-0 with Andreas Christensen opening the scoring in the 9th minute. Jorginho then buried a penalty to double the advantage before Kai Havertz added a third right after half time. Jorginho then scored another spot kick to wrap up a comfortable victory. The concern for Chelsea was that both their strikers, Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku were subbed off before half time due to an injury. The duo may be out for a few weeks which is very bad news for Thomas Tuchel.
Dejan Kulusevski scored a late goal to help Juventus win 1-0 against Zenit. After the first 58 minutes, things didn't go to plan for Max Allegri who made three changes by bringing on Arthur, Kulusevski and Cuadrado. The substitutions did eventually work as Juve got the winner but the Italian club is clearly missing Paulo Dybala. Their next game is a very important one against Inter Milan and Juventus will have to play much better if they want to get 3 points.
