(Football news) Juventus’ nine match unbeaten streak came to an end after they suffered a shock defeat to Sassuolo. AC Milan on the other capitalised on Napoli playing last by becoming the new leaders of Serie A, Inter and AS Roma also went back to winning ways.

In the first half AC Milan weren’t at their best, but in the 14th minute Oliver Giroud scored the decisive goal in a finely poised match. The story of the second half was similar as Torino also got good opportunities but Kjaer and Romagnoli held out for a very important victory. With this result Milan go on top with 28 points having played a match more than Napoli but the pressure on Spalletti will be there to win.

Juventus lost to Sassuolo 1-2 in dramatic fashion as the Old Lady suffered their third loss of the season and lost their nine match unbeaten streak. In the first half Juventus looked all over the place as Sassuolo looked very threatening, Frattesi scored in the 37th minute to give them a much deserved lead before half time. In the second half Juventus came out with much more aggression as Weston McKennie scored in the 76th minute to restore some parity, but right before the final whistle Juve were completely exposed on the counter as they were looking for a winner, Maxime Lopez stunned the host with a 95th minute goal to push Juventus 13 points adrift from AC Milan on top of the table. With this result Juve moved down to 7th with 15 points.

“These are the sorts of matches that you can’t lose if you know you’re not going to win them. We need to think about how we handle games, you can’t concede a goal like that on the counter… Juve never let in goals like today and it needs to never happen again.” said Allegri.
