(Football news) With a spot in the Nations League Finals on the line, Portugal and Spain prepare for battle in the League A Group 2 at the Estadio Municipal. In the last match, Fernando Santos's men ran out 4-0 victory over the Czech Republic while their opponents lost their grip on top spot with a 2-1 loss to Switzerland. Portugal have secured 10 points from a possible 15 points, the 2018-19 champions have taken top spot over Spain with one game to go, and a draw would be enough for the Selecao to advance to the four-team finals, but three points is still important.
Santos's side will welcome Spain to Portugal, having won each of their last four home matches in all competitions and they have only failed to win two of their nine Nations League games at home. Spain are forced to adopt a gung-ho approach in their bid to make the Nations League finals as only a win will do for last year's runners-up. Alba's equaliser on Saturday did at least mark a 19th consecutive game in which Spain scored. Last time they met, Enrique's outfit were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Portugal with Ricardo Horta coming up with a late goal to Morata's opener and that result marked the fourth draw in a row between the two nations but such a scoreline would benefit the Selecao more than the visitors.
Portugal possible starting lineup:
Costa; Dalot, Dias, Pereira, Cancelo; Neves, Palhinha, Fernandes; B. Silva, Ronaldo, Leao
Spain possible starting lineup:
Simon; Carvajal, Garcia, Torres, Alba; Koke, Rodri, Pedri; Sarabia, Morata, Torres
With both sides still facing the threat of relegation from UEFA Nations League Group A, Switzerland and the Czech Republic face each other at the Kybunpark. The Rossocrociati claimed a surprise 2-1 win over Spain at the weekend, while Jaroslav Silhavy's side succumbed to a 4-0 defeat by Portugal. Switzerland welcomes the Czech Republic to Kybunpark, having lost just two of their last 15 home matches in all competitions, but a couple of suspensions to key players makes Tuesday's encounter very interesting. Switzerland had not faced the Czech Republic since 1994 and the Rossocrociati ended up on the winning side that time.
Switzerland possible starting lineup:
Sommer; Widmer, Elvedi, Schar, Rodriguez; Freuler, Xhaka, Sow; Shaqiri, Embolo, Vargas
Czech Republic possible starting lineup:
Vaclik; Kudela, Zima, Jemelka; Coufal, Sevcik, Soucek, Zeleny; Cerny, Schick, Hlozek
