Nicolas Pepe looks set to end his torrid time with Arsenal

(Football news) Nicolas Pepe’s looks set to end his torrid time with Arsenal as he is set to join OGC Nice on loan without an option to buy him next season, with the Ligue 1 club hoping to sign him in time to face Marseille on Sunday. According to reports in France, Nice’s negotiations to loan Nicolas Pepe for the coming season are progressing well, with the player expected to arrive for his medical this week. The deal is back on track for Pepe but there’s still no agreement over his wages. Once the personal terms are agreed then the final insignificant details are required to complete a deal.

Without an agreement on his personal terms the deal still remains dubious as plenty of deals fall apart at this stage. There have also been links between Pepe and Leicester City in recent days, but Nice seem to remain the favourites to sign him. Fabrizio Romano reported earlier last week that talks are continuing between Arsenal and Nice over a loan deal for Pepe, with the Gunners telling Pepe to find a new team as soon as possible. Romano also added that despite some rumours, Sevilla did not make a proposal for Pepe. He was left out of the matchday squad to face Bournemouth on Saturday, with all parties hoping he’ll soon finalise his future as Arsenal plan to sign Pedro Neto from Wolves as his potential replacement.

Arsenal are claimed to be in talks over a move to sign Pedro Neto from Wolves, but the deal could be dependent on Nicolas Pepe’s departure from the club. Ever since he joined Arsenal for a record fee in 2019, the Ivory Coast international has struggled to hold down a regular starting role. According to English reports, Arsenal are in talks over a move to sign Pedro Neto from Wolves as a potential replacement. Neto would be an exciting addition to the Arsenal ranks and one who would definitely fit into their young thriving squad. It would be interesting to see where he would fit into the squad with new arrival Fabio Vieira would be earmarked as the backup to Martin Odegaard through the middle of the park despite him predominantly being a winger. If Arsenal could land Neto, his raw aggressive attitude in attack, and running at defenders will surely give a new dimension to the Arsenal squad.
