Napoli take on AC Milan as Inter can captialise on any drop points

(Football news) Inter take on bottom side Salernitana which is a crucial encounter since their title rivals AC Milan and Napoli face each other on Monday. The reigning Italian champions are currently third in the league, two points behind leaders Napoli while Salernitana sit 20th, 10 points from safety. Inter's have been winless in 5 consecutive matches, Tuesday evening, also they played out a goalless draw with AC Milan in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.

Simone Inzaghi's side will take on Liverpool to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, having lost 2-0 at home to them in the first leg of their last-16 match. Along with that they have only picked up just two points from their last four league games against. Inter had beaten Salernitana 5-0 in the reverse match earlier this season, but they have lost two of their last four games going into the match. For Inter, they will have a fully fit squad for this crucial encounter.

AC Milan will face Napoli which could be a potential title decider as both teams are level on points going into this fixture. For AC Milan, Pioli will start Mike Maignan in goal with a back four of Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez. Alessio Romagnoli is not fit and won't recover in time for this crucial encounter. Bennacer and Tonali will play with two holding midfielders for the first time in three games and Alexis Saelemaekers is set to start on the right for Milan and Franck Kessie will play in the number 10 role. Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud then will upfront together and will be crucial for Milan in the team.

Napoli have been in tremendous form since they bounced back from their first defeat of the season, to winning seven games in a row in January and February, and scoring in six consecutive games at the Diego Maradona Stadium. Napoli scored 17 goals and conceded just two in this winning run, and currently look the favourites to go and win the title. It will also be a battle between two in-form strikers in Victor Osihmen and Rafael Leao as both have been on good scoring runs. For Napoli, Hirving Lozano may be out for this fixture but other than him the others remain fit.
