Juventus closing in on a three year deal for free agent Paul Pogba

(Football news) Juventus are in the final stages of closing in on a three year deal with French midfielder Paul Pogba, who has left Manchester United and is available on a free transfer this summer. The Serie A club has already received verbal assurances that the 29 year old will rejoin them imminently, with his contract being negotiated by Rafaela Pimenta after Mino Raiola’s passing.

Pimenta has been working as a lawyer for Raiola’s firm for the last two decades and is currently coordinating with Juventus’ representatives for the final details of the contract. Despite interest from both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, Juventus are confident that the deal will be concluded soon and an announcement could coincide with Pogba’s Amazon Prime film titled 'The Pogumentary', which is set to air on 17 June.

According to multiple sources, Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri was integral to making the deal happen as the Italian manager has worked alongside Pogba in the past and gave the French midfielder assurances about maximising his abilities in Turin once again after an underwhelming six years at Manchester United. Manchester City were also interested in the Frenchman’s signature with Pep Guardiola meeting Pogba and drafting a lucrative contract. However, the 29 year old decided against it, especially because of his history with Manchester United.

In his first stint at Juventus, Pogba won four Scudetti and will look to replicate his best form once again, especially ahead of the 2022 World Cup. The Frenchman struggled with consistency at Manchester United and was a victim of immense criticism from the British media, especially because of his haircuts and social media posts. The 29 year old will hope for a better time at Juventus ahead of a busy 2022 season.
