(Football news) We are entering the business end of the season and Liverpool's hunt for the quadruple is still on. They are currently 3 points behind Manchester City with 2 games to go in the Premier League and City don't look like dropping any points. Liverpool who have already won the Carabao Cup have two important finals to play in: the FA Cup and UCL. The first of those finals is against Chelsea in the oldest football competition in the world.
Chelsea are in a bit of a pickle as they have won 2, lost 2 and drawn 2 of their last six games. Liverpool on the other hand are on a 15 game unbeaten streak in all competitions. An FA Cup final or any cup match for that matter is a fresh start in which the form book goes out of the window. Liverpool have a massive problem as they will be without Fabinho who is injured. There are a few Liverpool players who can play in the Brazilian's position but no one can be a direct replacement. Chelsea will definitely benefit from Fabinho's absence as there will be a lot of spaces for them to exploit. Jordan Henderson is the player who is likely to take up that number 6 role. Chelsea on the other hand are still without Calum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell while N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic are doubts.
Luis Diaz's recent form makes him undroppable meaning that he is likely to partner Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. As for Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku should start the game as he has started the last two games and scored 3 goals in them. Chelsea's back three will have a lot of work to do in order to stop the Liverpool onslaught. The Chelsea wing backs will have to make sure that they don't get pinned down by Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold which is easier said than done. Liverpool are fighting for the quadruple while Chelsea are fighting to avoid a trophyless season.
