Dusan Vlahovic has joined Juventus for an Italian record fee of 75 million Euros

(Football news) The Serbian striker who has been in red hot form this season will be joining Juventus for a reported fee of 75 million Euros. Dusan Vlahovic’s medical is due on Saturday and he would be eligible to make his debut for the club in their next match on February 6th. The Serbian is moving to the Allianz Stadium after refusing to sign a new contract with Fiorentina earlier this season. Arsenal and Tottenham were admirers of Vlahovic but were unable to meet Fiorentina's asking price as Fiorentina are now targeting Basel's Arthur Cabral as a replacement for Vlahovic.

Vlahovic came into the main stage last season when he scored 21 goals in 40 appearances for Fiorentina, and has since continued his impressive form with 20 goals in 24 games in all competitions this season. Vlahovic joined Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in 2018. He is not only making an impression in Italy, but the striker also has also got seven goals in 14 games for Serbia. Vlahovic has got 17 goals in 21 Serie A appearances this season, making him the league’s joint top scorer with Ciro Immobile. The fee would be the biggest in Serie A history for a winter break transfer. The current record came when AC Milan paid 40 million euros to Brazilian club Flamengo for Lucas Paqueta in January 2019. For Vlahovic, it has been a rapid rise to stardom as the 21-year-old went from cheering on Partizan Belgrade in the stands to making his club debut less than a month after his 16th birthday in early 2016 before moving to Italy two years later.

This season Juventus have been struggling to score goals since Cristiano Ronaldo’s sudden departure but with Vlahovic in the team it looks like that problem will no longer exist as he will not only bring plenty of goals but also can become a Juventus mainstay considering his age. Juventus have been looking for a goalscorer since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. Allegri hopes that the Serbian will work well with Dybala, who is not at the best level of his career at the moment to propel them in the league and also help them in the Champions League. This move would also mean that Alvaro Morata will sign with Barcelona should this deal be completed within the coming days

Fiorentina's sporting director, Daniele Prade, told Sportitalia: "It's an important valuation, over €70m as a lump sum with no swap deals and no payment structures. The president [Rocco Commisso] has imposed it on us. All of our doors are open in this situation, because we need to understand what the players and their agents really want to do. We received some important offers for him. Offers that were very substantial but we never got any feedback from his agents. On our side, there has always been great transparency. I refer to what Joe Barone [Fiorentina's chief executive] said, all our doors are open.

"We're ready to sit down at a table and talk. We made various important offers for a contract extension, and we also have had a few offers to sell him in a strong way "I'm saying this because our club makes €75m a year and we can't afford to lose a valuable asset for free. They were all valid and satisfactory offers, with payment methods that suited us. We couldn't go ahead with the deal because there was never any contact with the player's agents."
