Chelsea and Liverpool hope to secure 3 points in the Premier League

(Football news) Chelsea will hope to make it three Premier League wins in a row when they visit Turf Moor to face Burnley on Saturday. The Blues have two games in hand as compared to league leaders Manchester City but are 16 points behind the reigning champions and are currently third on the table. Burnley on the other hand are fighting in the relegation zone in the 18th place, one point above Everton who are 17th.

In team news, Erik Pieters, Dale Stephens, Matej Vydra and Johann Berg Gudmundsson will be unavailable for Burnley while Ben Mee is a doubt. Wout Weghorst is expected to feature in the final third alongside Maxwel Cornet and Aaron Lennon featuring on the right. As for Chelsea, Ben Chilwell is out for the season after a knee operation while Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta, Hakim Ziyech and Trevoh Chalobah are doubtful. 

Reece James, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic are expected to feature in central midfield while Romelu Lukaku could start alongside Mason Mount and Kai Havertz. Chelsea are expected to secure the three points in this fixture although Burnley desperately need the points and will put up a fight at Turf Moor. 

Liverpool will welcome West Ham at Anfield, desperately hoping to secure a win and remain in the race for the Premier League title. The Reds recently defeated Chelsea 11-10 on penalties in the Carabao Cup finals and progressed to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup in a 2-1 win over Norwich City. For Liverpool, Roberto Firmino will be unavailable for selection due to a muscular problem but Thiago Alcantara might be available for Jurgen Klopp. Curtis Jones and Jordan Henderson are also doubtful to start the match. 

As for West Ham, Vladimir Coufal, Ryan Fredericks, Arthur Masuaku and Angelo Ogbonna are absentees for David Moyes’ side while Ukraine's Andriy Yarmolenko has taken some time off after Russia’s invasion of his home country. Aaron Cresswell should be fit to return over Issa Diop and Said Benrahma will hope to be back in the starting XI. Liverpool’s squad is fully rested for this clash and are expected to comfortably secure three points in this fixture.
