(Football news) Casemiro has officially left Real Madrid to join Manchester United. The transfer fee is reportedly €60m fixed plus €10m in add-ons. He will get a significant pay rise which will make him one of the highest wage earners in the Premier League. From Casemiro's point of view the reason for the transfer is both a new challenge and also monetary value because at the end of the day football is also a business. The deal has worked out well for all parties involved. The past day has been filled with messages of goodbyes from Real Madrid players. 

Casemiro has left his mark on the history of Real Madrid. He isn't one of the players who gets a lot of attention for his magic on the field but he is certainly as important as the other players if not more. The fight he displayed on the ground is something that ignited passion in Madrid fans. Casemiro always shined with Madridismo, whether it was on the field or off the field. Casemiro may not come into the conversation of the greatest Real Madrid player of all time but he would certainly be one of the players who Real Madrid fans remember fondly.

He came back to Real Madrid a season later and the rest as they say is history. In his 7 seasons at Real Madrid, Casemiro won 5 Champions Leagues, 3 Club World Cups, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 3 LaLiga titles, 1 Copa del Rey and 3 Spanish Super Cups. He has also been nominated for the Ballon D'or this season. His contribution to the team in these 7 seasons has been immense. Casemiro came to Real Madrid in 2013 from Sao Paulo. After 1 season at the club he was sent to Porto on loan where he made his name. 

Casemiro was a part of one of the greatest midfield trios in the world along with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. The trio dominated world football at Real Madrid, playing so many finals at the club without losing a single one. Casemiro might not be on par with Kroos and Modric, considering the ridiculous quality of the pair, but he certainly was the most important. Now the baton has been passed to the youngsters but it would take something really special for any player to reach his level. Casemiro will always be a benchmark for any youngster who comes to Real Madrid and dreams of winning it all.
