(Football news) Isco has officially left Real Madrid after 9 years at the club. The Spaniard came to Real Madrid as a golden boy winner who was the hottest property in Spain. He now leaves having been an integral part of one of the clubs most successful eras. Isco's personal best came in the 2017/18 season when Real Madrid won their 33rd La Liga title and their 12th Champions League. Now the 30-year-old playmaker will embark upon a new journey in his career.
Isco hasn't had regular game time for the past 2 seasons at Real Madrid. He has often been criticised for his commitment and fitness even though both his managers Carlo Ancelotti and Zinedine Zidane have denied it. AS Roma has been linked with the player as Jose Mourinho is keen on the signing. Isco isn't a proper Mourinho type player but neither was Mesut Ozil who played well under the Portuguese. Isco's flair and dribbling ability is something which not many players in Europe have. If given regular game time the Spaniard could rediscover his old form.
At the age of 30 he still has a lot of football left in him and ultimately it will all come down to his ambition. Isco is most comfortable in a number 10 role which not many teams play in today's era. He has also played on the wing and as a deep lying playmaker in the past successfully. The one thing Isco will not want at this stage of career is to be a bench player. He will definitely want to be a starter at the club. It is still early doors to predict a move to Roma as several La Liga clubs are also interested. His wage demands are a problem for Spanish teams but they can always be negotiated.
