Flick to Let Two Barcelona Players Go

Many were taken aback by Barcelona manager Hansi Flick’s belief in La Masia during his first season there, but it has produced outstanding results in the shape of Marc Bernal and Marc Casado. It has become clear, though, that Flick is not quite sold on some of the players.

One of them, Ansu Fati, has been plagued by fitness problems once more this season and, even when healthy, has played fewer than 200 minutes. He is expected to return from a hamstring injury next week. However, due to fitness concerns, Eric Garcia has also missed over two months of activity. However, in September, he did appear in the majority of four consecutive games.

But Flick has warned Garcia and Fati that they will have trouble playing regular minutes if everyone is well. Flick would not obstruct any party’s desire to depart during the winter transfer window. Sport provides the information, adding that neither player has any immediate plans to leave but could receive offers in January. Depending on how the season develops, both plan to reconsider their options in the summer.

Due to Marc Bernal’s season-ending injury, Garcia has spent most of his time in midfield this season; however, Marc Casado has taken up the more defensive position since Garcia’s injury. Additionally, Andreas Christensen is on his way back, and Frenkie de Jong and Gavi have both recovered from injuries. Even when Fati was healthy, it was evident that Flick trusted Pau Victor more.
