Young defender Pau Cubarsi will be included in the traveling squad for Sunday’s match against Real Sociedad, according to a positive report from Barcelona manager Hansi Flick.
During a recent press session, Flick expressed his opinions on a variety of subjects, including Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal’s fitness levels.
Pau trained with us the entire session, so I believe he will be present. He started by noting, “Lamine has played a lot, done specific strength training, and we’ll see how he is tomorrow.”
Because Yamal plays a lot, he has participated in certain strength training sessions, and the staff is keeping a careful eye on his health, Flick said. Dani Olmo, meantime, had been feeling under the weather but was reportedly getting better, so it was hoped he would be ready for the game.
“We need to look after him because he has played a lot.” During the night, Dani Olmo felt uneasy and a little guilty. He was a little better this morning; they are taking care of him, and we’ll see, but I believe he will be ready tomorrow.”
In response to a question concerning Barcelona’s recent winning run, Flick emphasized the team’s objective of winning every match.
He praised Real Sociedad’s style of play, calling them a clever and technical squad that he thinks would make the game more interesting.
“We aim to win each and every match. We are currently playing Real Sociedad, and I think their style of play is excellent. They are a very skilled and knowledgeable group. The game is going to be intriguing tomorrow.
Flick also talked on the value of giving his players a break, saying that although training is important, there are instances when it helps to give the team a chance to unwind and recuperate, particularly following demanding games.
“We checked on the players’ progress and had a conversation with the coaching staff. We usually like training, but the second session after the game isn’t as strenuous, and it’s beneficial that they can unwind a little,” he said.
