Flick May Rest Key Barça Forward vs Sevilla

After a two-week vacation, Barcelona will play La Liga again on Sunday night at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys against Sevilla.

There is a lot of optimism surrounding the Blaugrana going into the game since they will have a triple injury boost this weekend with the clearance of Gavi, Fermin Lopez, and Dani Olmo.

Wojciech Szczesny, the recent addition, is also totally fit and should be eligible for selection.

To the relief of the fans, Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski have both trained properly following the international break, despite some doubts regarding their condition before.

But when Barcelona plays Sevilla tomorrow, manager Hansi Flick might decide to rest one of Lewandowski or Yamal, according to SPORT.

Yamal only played one game before returning from the Spain camp due to a muscle overload. The 17-year-old’s tests showed no serious issues, and he has been training as usual.

Regarding Lewandowski, he made a good comeback with a bruising on his foot following a reckless challenge by a player during Poland’s match against Croatia.

Despite the knock, the seasoned striker is also not hurt and has been practicing with the other players as usual.

But three days after the Sevilla match, Barcelona will play Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League, so Flick may decide to sit one of his best players and not take a chance.

While there are currently no guarantees, if the manager chooses that course, Pau Victor or Ansu Fati may receive the chance to start the match against Sevilla.
